Privacy Policy for BS 7671 Mastery

Effective date: 15 April 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Muehldorf Software Development ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the BS 7671 Mastery mobile app (the "App").

If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the App.

1. Information We Collect

Depending on how you use the App, we and our service providers may collect the following categories of information:

a. Information you provide or generate in the App

  • answers, scores, revision activity, and study interactions
  • calculator inputs and other content you enter into the App
  • support requests or messages you send to us
  • camera images or frames you choose to analyze using the App's AI inspection features
  • AI-generated inspection results and related output

b. Device and technical information

  • device type, operating system, app version, language, and general diagnostic information
  • identifiers used by service providers to support advertising, fraud prevention, analytics, or service delivery
  • crash, performance, and operational logs where enabled by us or our vendors

c. Advertising and tracking data

If you allow tracking on iOS, advertising partners may collect or receive data such as your device advertising identifier and related ad interaction information in accordance with their own policies and Apple's permissions framework.

d. Local on-device data

Some App data, such as study scores or progress, may be stored locally on your device to support App functionality.

2. How We Collect Information

We collect information:

  • directly from you when you use the App
  • automatically through your device and the App
  • from third-party service providers that support advertising, hosting, analytics, AI processing, and related infrastructure

3. How We Use Information

We may use information to:

  • provide, maintain, and improve the App
  • deliver question practice, mock exam, calculator, and revision features
  • process camera-based inspection requests and return AI-generated outputs
  • monitor performance, debug errors, and protect the App against misuse
  • serve and measure advertising
  • comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms
  • respond to support requests and user enquiries

4. Camera and AI Inspection Data

The App includes a camera-enabled inspection feature. When you use that feature:

  • the App accesses your camera only after you grant permission
  • selected camera frames or images may be sent to an AI processing service to generate inspection analysis
  • generated inspection results and related metadata may also be transmitted to our backend endpoint when configured in the App

Based on the current App flow reviewed for this draft, inspection results may be transmitted to backend services, while raw camera images are primarily used to obtain AI output. You should avoid capturing personal, confidential, or sensitive information unless you are satisfied that you have a lawful basis to do so.

AI outputs may be inaccurate and should not be relied upon as a substitute for professional inspection, testing, or compliance judgment.

5. Advertising and App Tracking Transparency

The App uses Google Mobile Ads and may display native or interstitial advertisements.

On iOS, the App may request permission under Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework before using data for personalized advertising or ad performance measurement. If you decline permission, the App may still display ads, but they may be less relevant.

Advertising providers may collect, receive, or infer information in accordance with their own privacy notices and applicable law.

6. Third-Party Services

The App may use third-party providers, including providers in the following categories:

  • Apple, for App Store distribution and in-app platform services
  • Google Mobile Ads, for advertising delivery and related measurement
  • Firebase, including Firebase Core and related Google infrastructure
  • Firebase Vertex AI or related Google AI services, for AI-powered inspection analysis
  • hosting, networking, crash reporting, and support service providers

These third parties may process information on our behalf or for their own limited purposes in accordance with their terms and privacy policies.

7. Legal Bases

Where required by applicable law, we process personal data on one or more of the following legal bases:

  • performance of our contract with you to provide the App
  • our legitimate interests in operating, securing, improving, and monetizing the App
  • your consent, where required, including for certain permissions or tracking activities

  • to protect rights, safety, property, users, or the public
  • in connection with a business transfer such as a merger, acquisition, financing, or asset sale

We do not sell your personal information for money in the ordinary meaning of the word "sell". However, some privacy laws may treat certain advertising or analytics disclosures as a "sale", "sharing", or targeted advertising activity.

9. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to operate the App, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Retention periods may vary depending on the type of data, the feature used, our legal obligations, and the settings of our service providers.

10. International Transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than the country where you live. Those countries may have data protection laws that differ from your local laws.

Where required, we take reasonable steps intended to ensure that transferred personal data remains subject to appropriate safeguards.
