Also marketed as Daily Word Search — Today's Twist
Muehldorf Software Development · Amman, Jordan
Effective date: May 31, 2026 · Last updated: May 31, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Muehldorf Software Development (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use Daily Word Search (the “App”) on iOS and Android.
We designed the App to work offline and to store game progress on your device. We do not operate user accounts, cloud saves, or our own backend servers that collect personal data.
If you have questions, contact us at info@muehldorfsd.com.
1. Summary
| Topic | What we do |
|---|---|
| Our servers | We do not collect or store personal data on servers we operate. |
| Game progress | Stored locally on your device (streaks, stats, settings, achievements). |
| Advertising | Optional ads are served through Google AdMob. Ad partners may collect device and usage data to deliver and measure ads. |
| Notifications | Optional daily reminders are scheduled locally on your device if you opt in. |
| Analytics | We do not send analytics to third-party analytics providers in production builds. Debug builds may log anonymous events locally on the device for development. |
| Accounts | No sign-up, login, or social profile is required. |
2. Information We Do Not Collect Directly
Because we do not operate accounts or backend services, we do not directly collect:
- Name, email address, phone number, or postal address (unless you email us voluntarily)
- Payment information (the App does not currently offer in-app purchases)
- Precise location (GPS)
- Photos, contacts, microphone, or camera data
- Health, financial, or government ID information
If you contact us by email, we receive whatever information you choose to include in your message.
3. Information Stored on Your Device
The App saves gameplay and preference data locally using platform storage (for example, UserDefaults on iOS and DataStore/SharedPreferences on Android). This may include:
- Puzzle progress, completion history, and daily puzzle status
- Streaks, personal best times, and difficulty-specific records
- Hint balance and optional ad-consent preferences
- Onboarding and tutorial completion flags
- Achievement unlocks
- Daily reminder settings (enabled/disabled and preferred reminder time)
- Other settings needed for the App to function
This data stays on your device unless you delete the App, clear the App’s storage, or use device backup/restore features provided by Apple or Google (which may copy App data according to your device settings).
You can delete this data by uninstalling the App or clearing its storage in your device settings.
4. Optional Local Notifications
If you enable daily reminders, the App requests permission to send local notifications reminding you that today’s puzzle is available.
- Reminders are scheduled on your device; we do not send push notifications from our own servers.
- You can turn reminders off in the App or revoke notification permission in your device settings at any time.
- On Android, the App may use
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETEDso scheduled reminders can be restored after a device restart.
iOS permission text: “Send a daily reminder when today's puzzle is ready.”
5. Advertising and Third-Party Data Collection
The App is free to download and may show optional advertising through Google AdMob, including:
- Banner ads on the home screen (after onboarding)
- Rewarded video ads when you choose to watch an ad for extra hints or word reveals
- Interstitial ads after some completed puzzles, shown when leaving the results screen (not during active gameplay)
Ads are never required to finish a puzzle.
5.1 What Ad Partners May Collect
Google and its advertising partners may collect information such as:
- Advertising ID (IDFA on iOS / GAID on Android) and other device identifiers
- IP address (which may be used to infer general location)
- App interactions related to ads (impressions, clicks, conversions)
- Device type, operating system version, language, and network information
- Diagnostic and fraud-prevention signals
Google’s use of information is governed by Google’s policies. See:
- Google Privacy Policy
- Google Ads / AdMob policies
- How Google uses data from sites or apps that use its services
5.2 Consent and Ad Choices
European Economic Area (EEA), UK, and Switzerland:
On iOS, we use Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) to present consent choices where required before requesting ads. On Android, consent handling is implemented in the App; production releases should use Google UMP where applicable.
iOS App Tracking Transparency (ATT):
On iOS, the App may request permission to track across apps and websites owned by other companies to deliver more relevant ads. You can decline without losing access to the App. You can also change your choice later in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking (or equivalent).
Limit ad personalization:
- iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking; and Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising
- Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization (wording may vary by device)
Reset advertising identifiers:
- iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → Allow Apps to Request to Track (and per-app controls)
- Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Reset advertising ID
Because we do not operate our own ad database, requests to opt out of personalized ads should be managed primarily through your device settings and any consent choices presented in the App.
6. Share Feature
The App lets you share your results using your device’s native share sheet (for example, Messages, Mail, or social apps). We do not receive the content you share. Any recipient or third-party service you choose is governed by that service’s privacy policy.
7. Internet Access
The App works offline for core gameplay. Internet access is used for:
- Loading and displaying advertisements
- Downloading ad consent forms where applicable
- General network connectivity checks related to ad loading
Word lists and puzzles are bundled in the App and generated on-device.
8. Analytics
In production builds, we do not integrate third-party analytics SDKs (such as Firebase Analytics) that transmit usage data to us or analytics vendors.
In debug/development builds, anonymous usage events may be logged locally on the device (for example, puzzle starts, ad offer outcomes, reminder prompts) to help us improve the App during development. These logs are not sent to our servers.
9. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If you believe a child has provided us personal information by contacting us directly, email info@muehldorfsd.com and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
Parents and guardians should supervise children’s use of the App, including ad exposure and device permissions.
10. Legal Bases and Your Rights (EEA / UK)
If you are in the EEA or UK, our legal bases for processing include:
- Consent — for personalized advertising and notifications where you opt in
- Legitimate interests — to provide a functional game, prevent fraud, and serve non-personalized or contextual ads where permitted
- Legal obligations — where applicable
Depending on your location, you may have rights to:
- Access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal data
- Object to processing or withdraw consent
- Data portability (where applicable)
- Lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority
Because we do not maintain user accounts or a central database of your gameplay data, most data is controlled on your device. You can delete it by uninstalling the App or clearing storage. For ad-related data held by Google, refer to Google’s data controls.
11. California Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you may have the right to:
- Know what personal information is collected, used, and disclosed
- Delete personal information (subject to exceptions)
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising
We do not sell personal information for money. AdMob may use identifiers for personalized advertising in ways that may be considered “sharing” under California law. You can limit this through device ad settings and in-app/consent tools.
To submit a privacy request, email info@muehldorfsd.com with the subject line “California Privacy Request.” We may verify your request as permitted by law.
We do not discriminate against users for exercising privacy rights.
12. Other U.S. State Privacy Laws
Residents of other U.S. states with comprehensive privacy laws (for example, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and others) may have similar rights regarding access, deletion, correction, and opting out of targeted advertising. Contact us at info@muehldorfsd.com to exercise applicable rights.
13. International Transfers
Google and its partners may process data in countries other than your own. When data is transferred internationally, Google applies appropriate safeguards as described in its policies.
14. Data Retention
- On-device game data persists until you delete the App or clear its data.
- Support emails are retained only as long as needed to respond and maintain records.
- Ad and SDK data is retained according to Google’s and partners’ policies, not ours.
15. Security
We use reasonable measures to protect information within our control. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Because gameplay data is stored locally, you should keep your device secured with a passcode/biometrics and current operating system updates.
16. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice in the App or through store listings. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
