This Privacy Policy explains how the iOS app Japan Driver Master (the "App") handles information. It reflects the App's current operation and the third-party advertising SDKs included in the iOS version.

Overview

  • No account registration is required to use the App.
  • The App does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, or precise location.
  • Study settings and progress are stored on your device to provide App features.
  • The App displays ads using advertising mediation partners such as Google Mobile Ads (AdMob), Google User Messaging Platform (UMP), Meta Audience Network, and Unity Ads.
  • We do not sell personal data.

Information Stored by the App

The App stores study-related information on your device, such as:

  • onboarding completion status;
  • selected study language and prefecture;
  • test date, if entered by the user;
  • progress for diagnostics, quizzes, lessons, and road signs;
  • study streaks, scores, and other study statistics.

This local data is used to provide App features, adjust the study flow, and save progress. We do not operate our own server that receives your study progress from the App.

Depending on iOS and iCloud backup settings, on-device App data may be included in backups.

Advertising and Consent

The App may show ads after onboarding and any required consent process. The iOS version uses:

  • Google Mobile Ads (AdMob);
  • Google User Messaging Platform (UMP);
  • Meta Audience Network mediation;
  • Unity Ads mediation.

Under their respective policies, these services may process device and app identifiers, advertising identifiers where permitted and available, IP address, approximate location inferred from IP address, ad impressions, ad interactions, diagnostic information, and consent choices.

Your Choices

  • Where required, a Google UMP consent form may be shown for advertising choices.
  • On iOS, Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt may be shown. Tracking permission can be managed in iOS Settings.
  • You can manage device-level advertising and privacy settings in iOS Settings.
  • You can delete local App data by deleting the App from your device. Data in backups is governed by Apple's backup settings.

Permissions

The iOS version does not request access to the camera, microphone, contacts, photos, or precise location. Network communication is used for advertising and related third-party services.

Data Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We also do not share study progress with our own server. Third-party advertising SDKs may receive advertising-related information directly from your device as described above and in their respective policies.

Retention and Deletion

Local study data remains on your device until the App is deleted or related device data is reset. Third-party advertising providers retain advertising-related information according to their own policies.

Children's Use

The App is a general-audience learning app and is not intended to knowingly collect personal information directly from children. If a child uses the App, we recommend that a parent or guardian review the App, advertising, and third-party policy disclosures.

Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. When it is updated, the "Last updated" date will be revised.

Your Choices

  • Where required, a Google UMP consent form may be shown for advertising choices.
  • You can manage advertising ID and advertising privacy settings in Android or Google settings. Available settings vary by device.
  • You can delete local data stored on your device by clearing the App's data in Android app settings or uninstalling the App. Data in backups is governed by your device or Google backup settings.

Permissions

The Android version requests the following permissions:

  • android.permission.INTERNET: for ad loading and related communication;
  • com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID: for Google Play services advertising features, where available.

The App does not request camera, microphone, contacts, photos, or precise location permissions.

Japan Driver Master Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (the "Terms") set out the conditions for using the Japan Driver Master mobile app (the "App"). By using the App, you are deemed to agree to these Terms.

1. Learning Use and Unofficial Service

The App is provided for learning about Japanese road signs and driving-related knowledge. The App is not a substitute for government agencies, designated driving schools, driver licensing centers, legal authorities, official rules, qualified instruction, or professional advice. The App does not guarantee exam success, license issuance, or any driving-related outcome.

2. Safe Use

Do not use the App while driving, riding in a vehicle, crossing a road, or in any situation where attention is required for safety. You are responsible for using the App only when it is safe and lawful to do so.

3. No Account Required

No account registration is required to use the App. You are responsible for the device, settings, and data related to your use of the App.

4. User Responsibility

You are responsible for complying with applicable laws and official driving-related requirements. Traffic laws, signs, procedures, foreign license conversion requirements, and exam operations may change and may vary by region. Confirm important information with official sources, driver licensing centers, police guidance, or qualified driving instructors.

5. Prohibited Conduct

You must not:

  • misuse, reverse engineer, decompile, or interfere with the App, except where this cannot be prohibited by law;
  • use the App in violation of applicable laws or third-party rights;
  • bypass consent, advertising, security, or access controls;
  • copy, redistribute, sell, or publish App content except where permitted by applicable third-party licenses or written permission.

6. Content Accuracy

We try to keep the learning content useful and accurate, but the App may contain errors, omissions, simplified explanations, outdated information, or display issues. Do not rely on the App alone for legal, safety, licensing, or exam-related decisions.

7. Third-Party Materials

Road sign images and related materials may be based on Wikimedia Commons and other third-party materials. Individual materials may be subject to separate license, attribution, and reuse conditions. If you reuse third-party materials outside the App, you are responsible for complying with those conditions.

8. Advertising and Third-Party Services

The App may display ads through Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) and mediation partners such as Meta Audience Network and Unity Ads. Advertising, consent, and measurement may involve third-party data processing as described in the Privacy Policy. Platform-specific or region-specific consent screens related to ads and tracking may be shown.

9. Updates and Availability

We may update, change, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the App at any time. Some features may depend on device compatibility, operating system behavior, network connection, third-party SDKs, or store requirements.

10. Disclaimer

The App is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we make no express or implied warranties, including warranties of accuracy, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, exam results, licensing outcomes, or driving outcomes, arising out of or related to use of the App.

12. Rights That Cannot Be Limited

Nothing in these Terms limits any rights, warranties, or remedies that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

13. Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be updated from time to time. When they are updated, the "Last updated" date will be revised. If you continue to use the App after an update, you are deemed to agree to the updated Terms.

本利用規約（以下「本規約」）は、Japan Driver Master モバイルアプリ（以下「本アプリ」）の利用条件を定めるものです。本アプリを利用することで、本規約に同意したものとみなします。

1. 学習用途および非公式サービス

本アプリは、日本の道路標識および運転関連知識の学習を目的として提供されます。本アプリは、政府機関、指定自動車教習所、運転免許センター、法的機関、公式規則、資格を有する指導、専門的助言の代替ではありません。本アプリは、試験合格、免許取得、または運転上の結果を保証しません。

2. 安全な利用

運転中、乗車中、道路横断中、または安全のため注意が必要な状況で本アプリを使用しないでください。利用者は、安全かつ合法的に利用できる場合にのみ本アプリを使用する責任を負います。

3. アカウント不要

本アプリの利用にアカウント登録は不要です。利用者は、本アプリの利用に関連する端末、設定、データについて責任を負います。

4. 利用者の責任

利用者は、適用される法令および公式な運転関連要件を遵守する責任を負います。交通法規、標識、手続、外国免許切替の要件、試験運用は変更される場合があり、地域により異なる場合があります。重要な情報は、公式情報、運転免許センター、警察の案内、または資格を有する運転指導者に確認してください。

5. 禁止事項

利用者は以下を行わないものとします。

  • 法律で禁止できない場合を除き、本アプリの不正利用、リバースエンジニアリング、逆コンパイル、または妨害行為を行うこと
  • 適用法令または第三者の権利に違反して本アプリを使用すること
  • 同意、広告、セキュリティ、アクセス制御を回避すること
  • 適用される第三者ライセンスまたは書面による許可で認められる場合を除き、本アプリのコンテンツを複製、再配布、販売、または公開すること

6. コンテンツの正確性

当方は学習コンテンツを有用かつ正確に保つよう努めますが、本アプリには誤り、省略、簡略化された説明、古い情報、表示上の問題が含まれる場合があります。法律、安全、免許、試験に関する判断について、本アプリだけに依存しないでください。

7. 第三者素材

道路標識画像および関連素材は、Wikimedia Commons その他の第三者素材を基にしている場合があります。各素材には個別のライセンス、表示、再利用条件が適用される場合があります。本アプリ外で第三者素材を再利用する場合、利用者はそれらの条件を遵守する責任を負います。

8. 広告および第三者サービス

12. 制限できない権利

本規約のいかなる定めも、適用法令上除外または制限できない権利、保証、救済を制限するものではありません。
