Privacy Policy for SafeServe

Last updated: May 23, 2026

Muehldorf Software Development ("we," "our," or "us") operates SafeServe, a food safety quiz and reference app. This policy explains what information is processed on your device, how advertising and consent work, and how educational content in the app is produced.

Summary

  • No account is required. Core study data (quiz sessions, practice stats, exam attempts, favorites, settings) is stored on your device using Apple's UserDefaults and SwiftData.
  • The app shows ads through Google AdMob. Before ads load, the app may ask for Google UMP (User Messaging Platform) consent and, where applicable, Apple App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission.
  • Google may collect and use data according to Google's Privacy & Terms and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
  • Some quiz and reference content may be AI-assisted or AI-generated and is provided for educational practice only—not as official certification or regulatory guidance.
  • We do not operate our own backend for SafeServe to store your personal profile, name, or email.

Information Stored on Your Device

Preferences and settings

  • Onboarding completion
  • Sound and haptic preferences
  • Temperature unit (°F / °C)
  • Cheat sheet favorites
  • Privacy consent flow completion

Learning and progress

  • Quiz sessions — date, questions asked, correct count, difficulty reached, streaks (for history screens).
  • Practice stats by topic — aggregate correct/total per topic domain for weak-area views.
  • Per-question practice counts — optional tallies to prioritize review (stored locally).
  • Mock exam attempts — date, exam type, score, pass/fail, duration, domain breakdown (local).

None of this is used to identify you by name or email inside the app, because the app does not collect those fields.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

SafeServe uses Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) to display banner and interstitial ads.

When ads are shown, Google (not us) may process identifiers and usage-related data for purposes such as ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention, and personalization (depending on your device settings, consent choices, and Google's policies). That processing is governed by Google's policies, not by a SafeServe server.

Advertising consent (Google UMP and Apple ATT)

Google User Messaging Platform (UMP)

SafeServe uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to gather and manage consent for personalized advertising where required by law (for example, in the EEA/UK) or as configured for your region.

  • On first launch (after onboarding), and on later launches, the app may show a Google consent form or update consent information before requesting ads.
  • You can change or withdraw ad personalization choices at any time in the app under Settings → Privacy & ads → Manage ad consent, which opens Google's privacy options form when available.
  • Your choices affect whether Google may use certain data for personalized ads. Non-personalized ads may still be shown depending on your settings and Google's configuration.

Apple App Tracking Transparency (ATT)

On supported devices, SafeServe may request App Tracking Transparency permission from Apple. This permission controls whether the app may access the device's advertising identifier (IDFA) for cross-app tracking and ad measurement, as defined by Apple.

  • ATT is requested only when the system status is not yet determined (typically once, after UMP consent on first setup).
  • You can allow or deny tracking when prompted.
  • You can change this later on your device at Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking and adjust SafeServe's permission there.

We do not use ATT or IDFA for purposes beyond what is needed for the advertising stack described in this policy.

Educational content and AI-generated material

SafeServe includes quiz questions, explanations, and reference material intended for food safety study and practice.

  • Some content may be AI-assisted or AI-generated, including portions of the expanded question bank. Content is reviewed and aligned to common food-safety study concepts, but errors or outdated information are possible.
  • AI-generated or assisted content is not a substitute for official certification courses, employer training, regulatory publications, or your local health authority.
  • Food safety rules vary by jurisdiction; always verify current requirements where you work or operate.

If you believe an answer or explanation is incorrect, contact us using the email below.

Analytics and other third parties

SafeServe does not include separate third-party analytics SDKs beyond what Google may provide as part of the ads stack. There is no social login.

Data sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We do not receive a copy of your on-device quiz answers on our own servers as part of the core app design.

Google may receive data as described above when ads load. Use Google's resources to understand those practices and your choices.

Children's privacy

The app is intended for general food safety education. If you allow a child to use the app, be aware that ads may be shown, consent prompts may appear, and Google's policies apply to those interactions. Parents and guardians should review device-level privacy controls.

Data retention and deletion

  • Data remains on your device until removed.
  • Delete all app data: remove SafeServe from your device (uninstall). This typically deletes local databases and preferences.
  • We do not retain your quiz content on our servers because the app does not sync to our backend.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date will change when we do. For material changes, we may note them in the App Store "What's New" text or in-app where practical.

Governing law and jurisdiction

This policy is operated by Muehldorf Software Development. Unless otherwise required by applicable law, disputes relating to this policy or the app are governed by the laws applicable in Amman, Jordan, and you agree to the jurisdiction of the courts in Amman, Jordan, for such matters.
