SafeServe ("we," "our," or "the app") is a food safety quiz and reference app designed to help you learn and practice safe food handling temperatures. This privacy policy explains how the app handles your information.

Information Stored on Your Device
The app stores the following data only on your device (using Apple's standard storage: UserDefaults and SwiftData). Nothing is sent to our servers or any third party, because the app does not use servers or third-party analytics.
Preferences and settings
- Onboarding status — Whether you have completed the introductory onboarding (so we don't show it again).
- Sound — Whether sound effects are enabled or disabled.
- Temperature unit — Your choice of Fahrenheit (°F) or Celsius (°C).
- Favorites — Which temperature entries you mark as favorites in the Cheat Sheet (stored by reference ID only).
Quiz history
- Quiz sessions — For each practice session we store: date, number of questions answered, number correct, highest difficulty reached, and best streak. This is used to show your progress and history inside the app only.
None of this data is personally identifiable unless you consider your own device to identify you. We do not collect name, email, or any account information.
How We Use This Information
- Preferences — To remember your settings (sound, units, favorites) and to avoid showing onboarding again.
- Quiz history — To display your past sessions and progress within the app.
All processing happens on your device. We do not use your data for advertising, analytics, or any other purpose.
Data Sharing
We do not share, sell, or transmit your data to third parties. The app does not include advertising, analytics SDKs, or social login. Your data never leaves your device.
Data Retention and Deletion
- Data remains on your device until you remove it.
- To delete all app data: Delete the SafeServe app from your device. This removes all stored preferences and quiz history.
- We do not retain any copy of your data after you uninstall.
Children's Privacy
SafeServe does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. The app may be used by people of any age for food safety study. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child is using the app, the same privacy protections apply: no data is collected or sent off the device.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will be revised when we do. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy. For significant changes, we may surface a notice in the app or in an update description where possible.

These terms and your use of the App are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Any legal action or proceeding related to this App shall be brought exclusively in the courts of Amman, Jordan. By using this App, you consent to the personal jurisdiction of and venue in such courts.
