These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the mobile application Ireland Road Signs Study Quiz ("the App"). The App is distributed for iOS through the Apple App Store and Android through Google Play or other permitted Android distribution channels.
1. Acceptance
By downloading, opening, or continuing to use the App after the in-app onboarding and legal acceptance step, you agree to these Terms together with our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
Apple and Google are not parties to these Terms, except where their own store, payment, device, or platform rules apply.
2. Educational use only
The App is provided for education and self-study about Irish road signs. It helps you browse signs, review explanations, and practise with quiz modes including practice, category drills, and exam-style sessions.
The App is not an official theory or practical driving test, not an official government publication, and not a substitute for the RSA's official Rules of the Road or driver-theory-test materials, legal advice, or instruction from qualified professionals.
3. Not legal or professional advice
The App does not provide legal advice, professional driver training, or real-time safety instructions. Always follow current law, real road signs and markings on the road, and guidance from the relevant authorities.
4. Your responsibilities
You agree that you will:
- use the App lawfully;
- verify important information with official sources before relying on it;
- not use the App while driving or in any situation where it could distract you or endanger anyone.
5. Content and accuracy
We aim for the App to be useful and correct, but we do not warrant that content is complete, up to date, error-free, or fit for every purpose. Explanations and study materials may be simplified. Laws, road signs, road layouts, exam requirements, and official guidance can change.
Some texts, questions, explanations, translations, images, or other materials may have been generated or prepared with the help of artificial-intelligence (AI) tools. Always verify important information against official sources and the real signs and rules on the road.
6. Advertising and third-party technology
The App is ad-supported. It may show third-party advertisements through Google AdMob, including native and full-screen interstitial formats. The AdMob mediation setup may also route ad requests to bidding partners such as Unity Ads and Meta Audience Network.
Where required by law or platform policy, Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) may collect your ad and data-use consent or preferences on iOS and Android. On iOS, App Tracking Transparency (ATT) may also request permission before tracking-related ad features are used.
If you decline consent choices that prevent ads from loading, the App remains usable but advertisements may not appear. Your use is also subject to the applicable policies of Google, Unity, Meta, Apple, Google Play, and other platform or ad-service providers.
7. Local data
Your quiz progress, preferences, and similar data are stored on your device only. We are not responsible for loss of that data due to uninstallation, clearing app data, device failure, system cleanup, or backup/restore behaviour. You are responsible for maintaining any backup you need.
8. Copyright
The software, layout, branding, and original text belong to the publisher or are used under licence. Unless permitted by law, copying, reverse engineering, resale, scraping, automated extraction, or redistribution without permission is not allowed.
9. Third-party graphics and materials
Most sign illustrations come from Wikimedia Commons and other public sources and are used under their respective licences; the App shows the attribution for each illustration. Rights belong to the respective owners. Export or reuse beyond personal study in the App is not permitted except as allowed by law or licence.
10. Third-party services
The App relies on services such as Google AdMob, Google User Messaging Platform, Unity Ads, Meta Audience Network, Apple (iOS), and Google (Android and Google Play services). These services have their own terms, privacy policies, technical requirements, and availability rules.
11. Availability and changes
We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue features or the App. We may also update these Terms or the Privacy Policy. Continued use after changes become available can constitute acceptance where permitted by law. If a change requires renewed acceptance, the App may ask you to review and accept the updated documents before continuing.
12. Disclaimer
The App is provided as is and as available to the fullest extent permitted by law, without express or implied warranties.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the publisher is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages or losses from use or inability to use the App.
